WCLOC Scholarships

The Russell Dupre Memorial Scholarship for the Performing Arts

~ Russell Dupre, was a long time member and friend of Worcester County Light Opera Club, who devoted much of his life to directing others in Community Theater to help them develop their talents and offer the Worcester community the opportunity to become involved with live theater.
~ This Worcester County Light Opera Club Scholarship is awarded to a student who wishes to continue to develop his/her talents in the performing arts through formal instruction. This scholarship might be used for lessons in dance, voice, a musical instrument or some other area of performing arts. Awards are based on an individual’s commitment to his/her art, potential for growth, and service to the community.
~ Participants of the Children’s Summer Musical Theater Workshop Program, who are WCLOC members, are eligible for this scholarship. The Workshop Director, along with the Worcester County Light Opera Board of Governors determines the number and dollar amount of any scholarship(s) awarded and presented to any student(s).
